I got this hutch from my husbands' aunt, the story behind it was a military friend of hers got it from Germany during the war, and it wouldn't fit in their house, so they stored it in her garage for like 40 years. It looks similar to a Hoosier cabinet, but every example I find of a Hoosier cabinet, nothing looks like this. What is the granite for? The cutting boards? The photos show it in two pieces, it's meant for the smaller piece to sit on top of the larger piece like a traditional hutch. It has these locks on the cabinet doors, which is odd to me. It's extremely heavy. One photo shows some writing on the inside of where a drawer goes that I'm pretty sure is German, but none of my translation apps can identify it. Any help is greatly appreciated, we are currently refinishing it to bring it inside. It does include all the spice drawers intact as well. Thanks
